ReelFruit Expands Production with Sustainable Practices, Backed by FCMB

Apr 9, 2024

Nigeria - First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has reiterated its dedication to environmentally conscious production that conserves energy and natural resources while minimizing adverse effects on the environment. The recently opened Nature's Bounty Health Products Limited dried fruit production facility in Abeokuta, Ogun State, served as an example of this. The 800-metric-ton manufacturing facility, which was funded by FCMB, demonstrates Nature's Bounty's dedication to environmentally conscious and large-scale production.

A mission-driven Nigerian food technology firm called Nature's Bounty Health Products Limited, also known as ReelFruit, turns plentiful local fruits like mangoes, coconuts, and cashews into nutritious snacks. This keeps food waste from occurring after harvest and shields farmers from income declines. The company's increased capacity was required due to its emphasis on social effect, helping underprivileged areas, and promoting Nigerian products internationally. With the new factory, Nature's Bounty Health Products can now produce up to 30 metric tons of its variety of ReelFruit products every month, supporting over 200 employment.

The factory's wider importance is emphasized by Affiong Williams, the founder and CEO of Nature's Bounty Health Products: "This facility is more than just bricks and mortar; it embodies my unwavering belief in Nigeria's agricultural and manufacturing potential." With the help of this plant, we will be able to produce more dried fruit, service a larger consumer base nationally, export goods that are "Made in Nigeria," and revolutionize the agribusiness. We are assisting farmers, generating employment, and demonstrating that significant change is possible. For future generations, this facility will serve as a good representation of Nigeria's economic environment.

According to Mrs. Yemisi Edun, Managing Director of First City Monument Bank, "FCMB consistently supports businesses that share our vision of a sustainable and inclusive Nigeria." "This dedication is embodied by Nature's Bounty Health Products and its brand, ReelFruit, which enhances local food while emphasizing sustainable production methods and employment development. Their cutting-edge effluent system and energy-efficient gear have established a benchmark for the agriculture industry."

The new facility is "a testament to the can-do spirit of Nigerians," according to Mr. Adebola Sofela, Ogun State Commissioner for Industry, Trade, and Investment. "We are thrilled to have this facility here, as it will assist Nigeria and our state greatly. Our administration is dedicated to promoting industrial growth by establishing favorable conditions that allow enterprises to prosper."

With ten times the capacity of the previous plant, the new one positions the ReelFruit brands to take their quality dried fruits to both domestic and foreign markets. The business's creative strategy effectively strikes a balance between environmental preservation and economic growth.
